About Me
Where to begin?

I was born in Canon City, Colo., on Aug. 24, 1982. I have lived most of my life in Pueblo, Colo. I started out becoming interested in art, ironically enough, while taking violin lessons in the fourth grade at Heritage Elementary School. In that year I made my first charcoal drawing and an oil painting.
I attended Roncalli Middle School, and took a deeper dive into the art world in the 8th grade. I graduated from South High School in 2001.

I attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., for a year and a half studying graphic design and decided to come home to Pueblo, to finish my education at Colorado State University - Pueblo, where I received a bachelor’s degree in computer animation, graphic design and photography.

My favorite medium to work in is charcoal, however, I have experimented with oil pastels and find that they are just as fun to work with. I am also interested in classsic black-and-white photography. By classic, I mean the old fashioned way; in the darkroom, developing and printing my own photographs with the chemicals. I am also interested in digital photography.

I am a huge fan of Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet. There is just something about their work that inspires me to find my own creative niche. To me, art is an expression of how you were feeling at that point and time.
I think Van gogh says it best when he says, Just dash something down if you see a blank canvas staring at you with a certain imbecility. You do not know how paralyzing it is, that staring of a blank canvas which says to the painter: you do not know anything...
